Cover for a poetry chapbook, single colour. I was provided the concept, which I've also uploaded. While I was allowed to do whatever I wanted, I decided to stick with the original concept, since it struck me as interesting, and is the art of the author. I wanted to keep that spirit. I was happy to be trusted with this despite it's not my usual fare.

I used Illustrator for the control it allowed me, to play with strokes until I was satisfied they reflected the energy of the original designs, while still performing clean-up on the art itself. Several figures are transposed from the original to balance the composition a bit more in the final pass.
